Zavarba

Zavarba is a label of SEWA, managed by Shree Shramshakti Vividhlakshi Mahila Sewa Sahkari Mandali Ltd., based out of Anand district in Gujarat. The cooperative is formed of 3000 rural weaver families.  The name Zavarba is derived from the first woman weaver who began vending her hand woven products door-to-door when incomes of weavers dried up in the region. It was Zavarba who inspired a legion of women to come together for preserving this rare artform and retain their livelihood.
